No, all lessons are given in knee deep water under close supervision.
How long do lessons last?
All lessons last at least two hours with approx 80 mins spent in the water.
Who will be giving the lesson?
All lessons are given by Pat the owner an ex lifeguard with over Thirty years experience at Spanish Point.
What kind of wetsuits are used and how are they cleaned?
We have top of the range suits which are all 4mm and 5mm which are a lot warmer than the 3mm ones commonly used in summer. We find that over the course of two hours young kids in particular tend to get cold so we supply winter suits to all children under 14 helping to ensure the fun isn’t spoilt by unseasonal weather. Our suits are rinsed and sterilised after every use.
What does ISA approval mean and is it important?
The ISA are the governing body for surfing in Ireland and their approval scheme ensures that partisipating schools are regularly checked to ensure full compliance with all qualification and procedural guidelines. When attending an ISA approved surf school you can be sure that everything is done at the level of best international practice.

We are a family run business and are well aware of the financial pressures we all experience so offer discounts for second and subsequent kids be they part of the same family or as part of the same booking, so don’t be afraid to ask!
